1.2/CIRCUMSTANCES OF SURVEY.

TO ESTABLISH THE CONDITION OF THE (VESSEL TYPE) (`NAME`).

THE SURVEY WAS CARRIED OUT AT:

A MARINA IN GOSPORT, ALL LOCATION DETAILS.

THE SURVEY WAS CONDUCTED ON: (DATE)

THE VESSEL WAS SAT ON THE MARINA HARD STANDING SUPPORTED IN A YACHT CRADLE.

THE VESSEL WAS LIFTED FROM THE WATER BY THE MARINA/BOAT YARDS TRAVELHOIST/CRANE AT (TIME AND DATE) APPROXIMATELY AND HELD IN THE SLINGS FOR THE DURATION OF THE SURVEY/ HOW LONG.

THE VESSEL WAS (WHERE WAS IT?).

A TEMPERATURE OF 00.0 DEGREES CENTIGRADE WAS RECORDED AT THE TIME OF THE HULL INSPECTION.

AN ATMOSPHERIC HUMIDITY READING OF 00.00% WAS RECORDED AT THE TIME OF HULL INSPECTION.

WEATHER CONDITIONS AT THE TIME OF THE HULL INSPECTION WERE:

WARM AND SUNNY, SLIGHT BREEZE BLOWING.

1.4/HULL INSPECTION.

THE HULL AND DECK ARE OF GLASS REINFORCED PLASTIC (GRP) CONSTRUCTION. THE VESSEL HAS BEEN PRODUCED FROM SEVERAL MOULDS. THE HULL AND DECK ARE SEPARATE PIECES BONDED TOGETHER AND WITH THE INCLUSION OF BULKHEADS FLOORS, SAUL’S AND ALL OTHER SCANTLINGS INSTALLED FORM THE VESSEL STRUCTURE. SEVERAL OTHER MOULDS FORM ITEMS SUCH AS THE HATCH GARAGE, COCKPIT LOCKER LIDS AND CHAIN LOCKER LID. THE INTERIOR FIT OUT OF THIS VESSEL HAS BEEN PRODUCED WITH THE USE OF MARINE PLYWOOD AND SOLID TIMBER MOULDINGS.

A FULL INSPECTION OF THE HULL, DECK AND OTHER ANCILLARY MOULDINGS WAS MADE WITHIN THE VESSELS CONSTRUCTION. ALL WERE FOUND TO BE IN GOOD CONDITION WITH THE EXCEPTION OF:

THE INTERIOR SURFACE OF THE HULL HAS BEEN EXAMINED AT ALL ACCESSIBLE LOCATIONS; NO DEFECTS OR DAMAGE HAVE BEEN FOUND/THE FOLLOWING DEFECTS/REPAIRS WERE NOTED:

A FULL INSPECTION OF ALL INTERNAL BULKHEADS, FLOORS, SAUL’S AND SCANTLINGS WAS MADE WITHIN THE LIMITATIONS OF THE VESSELS CONSTRUCTION. ALL WERE FOUND TO BE IN GOOD CONDITION WITH THE EXCEPTION OF:

THE VESSELS TOPSIDE (WATERLINE TO SHEERLINE) IS FINISHED IN ORIGINAL GEL COAT/IS PAINTED. THESE WERE FOUND TO BE IN GOOD CONDITION/TO HAVE A FEW SCRATCHES AND MARKS BUT NO MORE THAN COULD BE EXPECTED/OF A VESSEL OF THIS AGE/DURING NORMAL USE.

THE VESSEL FROM THE WATERLINE DOWN HAS/HAS NOT BEEN EPOXY TREATED FOR AN OSMOTIC PROBLEM IN THE PAST. THE HULL FROM THE WATERLINE DOWN HAS BEEN COATED WITH RED/BLACK/BLUE ANTIFOULING PAINT. THE VESSEL ALSO HAS A RED/BLACK/BLUE BOOT TOP LINE.

AN OSMOSIS AND MOISTURE CHECK WAS CARRIED OUT WITH THE USE OF TRAMEX SKIPPER METER NUMBER 5983565 ON SCALE ONE. THIS METER WORKS ON A SCALE OF 0 –100 -. 0 = NO MOISTURE  100 = HIGH MOISTURE.

THE FOLLOWING RELATIVE MOISTURE READINGS HAVE BEEN RECORDED:

TO PORT:

AVERAGE TOPSIDES READING TO PORT ARE:  00%

00 SAMPLE AREAS WERE EXPOSED ON THE PORT SIDE OF THE HULL.

AVERAGE READINGS ARE:

HIGHEST READING 00% XXX FEET FROM THE STERN/BOW JUST BELOW THE WATERLINE/AROUND THE TURN OF THE BILGE TO THE BOW/STERN OF THE VESSEL.

READINGS ON THE PORT SIDE OF THE RUDDER WERE:    TOP 00% BOTTOM 00%.

READINGS ON THE PORT SIDE OF THE SKEG WERE:  TOP 00% BOTTOM 00%.

TO STARBOARD.

AVERAGE TOPSIDE READINGS TO STARBOARD ARE: 00%.

00 SAMPLE AREAS WERE EXPOSED ON THE STARBOARD SIDE OF THE HULL.

AVERAGE READINGS ARE:

HIGHEST READINGS OF 00% XX FEET FROM THE BOW/STERN JUST BELOW THE WATER LINE/AROUND THE TURN OF THE BILGE TO THE BOW/STERN OF THE VESSEL.

READINGS TO THE STARBOARD SIDE OF THE RUDDER ARE:  TOP 00% BOTTOM 00%

READINGS TO THE STARBOARD SIDE OF THE SKEG ARE:  TOP 00% BOTTOM 00%

A VISUAL INSPECTION OF THE HULL WAS ALSO CARRIED OUT AND NO/ OSMOTIC BLISTERING WAS FOUND.

RECOMMENDATION.   RECOMMENDATIONS ARE IN SECTIONS SHOULD THE VESSEL REQUIRE ATTENTION WITH ADVICE ON HOW THE WORK SHOULD BE COMPLETED.

ADVICE.

IT IS SUGGESTED THAT AN INSPECTION BE CARRIED OUT AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR (WHEN THE VESSEL IS LIFTED FOR ANTIFOULING) TO MONITOR THE VESSEL FOR ANY OSMOTIC ACTIVITY/ SO THAT THE RATE OF ADVANCE CAN BE ESTABLISHED.

THE VESSEL IS SHOWING SIGNS OF OSMOTIC BLISTERING/WICKING AND ALTHOUGH THIS IS INSUFFICIENT TO WARRANT CONCERN REGARDING THE STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY OF THE HULL IT WILL IMPINGE THE RE-SALE VALUE OF THE VESSEL/THE OSMOSIS HAS PROGRESSED TO AN ADVANCED STAGE AND REQUIRES PROFESSIONAL TREATMENT.

QUOTES FOR THIS WORK MUST BE OBTAINED TO ENABLE MY CLIENT TO QUANTIFY THE PROBLEM.

 SECTION SEVEN.

7.1/CONCLUSION.

THIS IS A SUMMARY OF THE OVERALL CONDITION OF THE VESSEL AND IS INDIVIDUAL TO EACH VESSEL.
